Guys can you help me in promoting my wall paper. Any ideas as to how we can promote our wall papers and how you guys did it. Made a basic wall paper using LWC https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.galaxydev.playfulheartslwp
At the end of it all, promotion will only get you so far. The biggest key to getting a lot of downloads is quality. If quality is not very good then balance out with quantity. It is more effective to spend time increasing quality or making a new app altogether than intensely promoting a poor live wallpaper. Get into the habbit of browsing Live Wallpapers on the Google Play market and noting the average quality of live wallpapers to see what you are up against. If you cover the main app markets and social media outlets then you are promoting your app enough. Aside from Google Play you can promote using other markets and popular social networks (youtube, facebook, twitter), but I don't think it is necessary. If you have a personal blog or website - that works great too. Additionally you can submit your app to other markets. The next big market should be Amazon, but there are plenty of smaller, younger markets which might be good, I've not tried any yet. Finally you can simply submit your app to popular online software repositories such as CNET Download.com. You should talk with a guy on our forums that goes by the name - Eraste. He is interested in self promotion. Cheers.
I'm really looking forward to this update, it looks really nice. I'm glad that developers are working hard on making this application better and better and also trying to make it as simple to use as possible, so people like me and others that don't have much knowledge in developing can make good lwps. Nonetheless, I'm not yet able to sell my wallpapers in the Google Play market since people in my country hasn't still been allowed to open a merchant account, so I could only upload free apps and free apps with ads, and I'm not a big fan of ads. This leads me to one question: Will this application be compatible with Windows 8? If not, then I guess I could just set the compatibility to an earlier version of Windows and that would work, right? Thanks guys, wish you a good day.
Although we have not yet tested LWC3 on windows 8, there is no reason to suspect that the two will be incompatible. Not to worry. Thank you for your support and kind words btw, cheers.
Hey guys, Question about 3.0 as I prepare some new wallpapers. Are we able to set states for each item to progress to? For example, item 1a progresses to item 1b when clicked, item 2a progresses to item 2b, so on so forth. Thanks!
Hey, Good question. As of right now this feature is not directly available, but we have it in our todo list. However it is possible to emulate this functionality using multiple groups where each group has only one item per state. It is a bit of a redundancy, but technically this feature exists. We will implement it properly as soon as higher priority work is completed. As of right now, this feature is not planned as part of 3.0 release, but that may change.
Thanks Fando! A point of clarification, I am perfectly happy doing this using multiple groups, and I don't see a limit to the number of groups posted in the features post... can you verify that there is not a limit to the number of groups?
