It's been 6 months and v2.5 is still unavailable, not even a beta version.
I bought this software because it claimed to be updated in March, but after half a year there is not update at all.

How much time do we have to wait??

The software as it is isn't that great, that's why I haven't published any lwp in Google Play yet.

So, is v2.5 really going to be released?? Yes or not?

I would also like to know. Its been over half a year past the release date. I realize that you guys are probably working very hard on it, but your severe lack of updates is making me a little twitchy. Release a beta version, or some news about LWC 2.5. We deserve it as you customers/users to be kept in the loop about this. I do hope that you release something soon, because you guys don't let us network about ways to modify 2.0 and your current version is very lacking. Please reply with any information at all. Don't ignore this thread.

PS, Hey new kid, watch this. In about two days or so some dude named Jerry-me is going to come onto this thread and defend Vas & Pals like we are attacking them, while reprimanding us. Watch. Give it two days.

You're right stollo770, everytime I write something expecting an official answer, Jerry-me comes by saying something about the update, but sadly, it never comes true.
This time I really hope Vas comes by to face the music.
Is glad to know that I'm not alone, and that I'm not the only one who thinks that the lack of update about the new version is somehow disrespectful, since we did pay for the software, it wasn't free.
Vas, if you are reading this, please answer us. Gives us information about the new version. Stop hiding, we deserve to know what's going on here.

Well to put my two cents in my estimates are that he most likely works on this on his spare time and I do know that he had problems and redid the code from scratch in March/April but I do know that we need a new update between September and early October. I mostly say this due to the fact that a loss of momentum is setting in which isn’t a good thing considering that early this year there was a lot of interest and it seems too died down.
I do think that he should had tried to aim to have a 2.1 version by the early summer with animated graphics, rotation and maybe another feature if he could squeeze an feature if he had time would had least kept most of the momentum. Then In October release 2.2 with a few fixes if needed with a feature or two to keep the user base satisfied until the full blown update. Even if the true 2.5 was released in March those smaller updates would have help keep interest in the product.

I will say that the site and a preview is needed due to it’s not that the main page hasn’t been updated in 6 months and a few people might think the project is inactive or in hiatus. I do think an update is needed Late September/Early Mid October mostly due to LWC is still quite new and isn’t mature yet so taking a year between updates isn’t a good thing due to that you’ll lose active uses due to a huge gap in updates thus it’s best to release the content in smaller updates until the software and user base is big and mature enough to withstand a yearly release. Overall I do think we need an update within a month.

Stollo770 I’m not affiliated with LWC team nor I’m defending them in any way. When I make my guesses I base it on what he officially say and make an estimate based on how many hours he might work on it and other factors. If they fail to make it’ll be on them.

I’m not reprimanding anyone I’m posting back mostly due to its very likely you don’t know anything about the programming process. But I do think a few things need to be said bluntly due to it keeps on going in an endless waltz.

Is everyone getting tired or waiting? I would say most likely.
Would everyone like to have it released a couple of months ago? Yes.
Is Vas and co an Indy developer? Yes
Are they working on this in their spare time? Yes
Do they have a job outside this? Yes
Could they be biting more than they can chew with the new update? Maybe
Will 2.5 be released? I’ll be up to them.

Now to expand what I’m trying to say Vas and the others are independent developer which means they are working on this with their spare time after work plus they are hard coding this from scratch which is not an easy task for an editor like this and because they are only working a fraction of a paid worker It’s going to take longer than expected. How much time they work on it per week who know and as far as we know they might not have even touched it for a month. While programming you tend to run into bug it might take a month or two to iron them out which means you have to find the problem though thousands of lines of code and find the problem (Note: Another LWC with less polish took 6 months to modify, fix and release a stable version).

LWC was most likely a gamble test which a lot of developers do and it seems to meet or exceeded their expectations with 2.0 thus when 2.5 started they wanted to do more with it based on the comments on the old side and the revamp version. Because of this it looks like they ran into a wall and had to recode everything from scratch in March (It looks like the original 2.5 was just going to have animated Gifs). Is it a possibility they are just adding too much stuff which is taking too long, maybe they are just working on it that often or it’s just they are having some coding issues again. Overall it’s up to vas and co to decide when it’s ready for release.

I really wish we would get at least monthly updates and few screens or videos to show to progress, I wish it was ready like you and the other and I do think we need at least a decent preview. In closing know that everyone is frustrated about the lack of info and release but I really don’t think Vas will update due to the wear and tear of months of asking for a date.

*sigh*. Another week another thread ignored thread by Vas. Well I think its safe to assume that the whole LWC project is dead and that Vas and pals have likely disbanded. Shame too. I really believed in this software, but I guess everyone is made a fool of at some point in their lives or another. Its also been weeks since a general update from Vas or anyone at LWC at all. So thats it, I guess its over.

As I stated in my previous thread, I am still willing to pay any developer who can put together a video tutorial for me to implement adds into my live wallpapers. I know that I have to de-compile the lwp itself then add permissions to the android manifest (google tutorial), but I don't know how to add external libraries to host the jdk files for the ads. Anyone interested in helping me out? And making some extra cash on the side? Don't feel as if it will disrespect Vas because their team doesn't exist anymore anyway. Its actually likely that this forum will soon disappear as well. So here is my email for any business inquiries regarding ad integration tutorials. stollo@optonline.net

Good luck to all of you in your future endeavors.

Couldn't have really said it better myself.

If LWC was our full-time job, the new version would have been released a long time ago. Unfortunately, this is not the case. The more we work on LWC, the more time it takes up. With all of our other responsibilities, we are definitely short on time. Our intention is to work on LWC full-time everyday, and that is the environment we have been trying to create. At the end it comes down to whatever pays the bills and so far, admittedly, LWC has not done enough. We realize that this might be possible with further development of LWC, but as everything else - it takes time. If you want to help us, you could donate to the project. Otherwise, please just be patient. There are many grand design plans in place for LWC...all we need is time and a bigger workforce. We're not going anywhere. Too much has been invested into this project, and we will see it through all the way to what we originally envisioned.

Having said all this, we will post a much needed update early next week that should shed some light on the status of LWC.

Thanks for your continued support, everyone.

YAY! ...and please remember, once we are able to actually generate some income from our LWP's, we will easily be able to afford to kick more into the project! We are flat broke right now, the kids have both had colds recently, leaving barely any time to work on projects and invest time in to learning code. So LWC is a great way to get started and get a foot into the market.

You should select some of the best artists currently in the LWC community, and teach them how to implement adds so they can generate an income, they will more than likely be able to throw some extra cash your way. I know I would!

    Cheers.

It's not a bad idea, Shyner! Only a few people are posting their works though, so there isn't much to pick from.
Post some of your awesome wallpapers, guys!

Hey thanks! Maybe you could start a new thread regarding this? Turn it into a little contest maybe, that would be fun! :)

VAS! Its a nice to hear from you again! I thought you were gone for ever. I'm sorry for rudely saying that your project was gone, but I really thought I was after the months of community neglect. That being said it shouldn't take me unofficially declaring the end of LWC for you to comment back about it. Please talk to us more! Even if you say bad news, its still news and I'm glad to hear it!

And I'm totally cool with Shyner's idea of teaching people to implement ads and then those people donating back to you! I've been thinking about that myself for a while. My lwp's are getting quite popular (only the free ones), with my most popular one with over 22,000 downloads. Put out a tutorial on how to implement ads and I'll be GLAD AS HELL to donate some money from them into LWC. Please reply back swiftly and not in another month!

Also Vas, another alternative would be creating a tutorial video, and then charging people to view it. Maybe charging them $25.00 or so. Everyone, including me, would do it without thinking and you'd get a lot of money money instantly. You could also market it beyond the lwc community as an aid for any/all developers looking to put ads into their work. I think its better than waiting for donations. You'd get your capital much faster, and could put it to use to expand your project immediately. Win, win for all.

Sweet wallpapers TheShadow. I think that your Bat Man one will be taken down soon though because of copyright. I made an NY Giants wallpaper and it was ripped down in about a month.

I would love to help you implement ads, but I don't know how to do it either. I've been asking/begging/pleading for help here but, as you will find, getting help from this forum/community is like trying to squeeze water out of a rock. My advice is to read and search, which is what I'm doing, and when you figure it out, post a video tutorial here with the title "Fuck you everyone for not helping me".

    -Best
