New Balance look to finish the year strong, joining forces with Japanese menswear brand N.HOLLYWOOD. Two pairs of 247v2s have surfaced, one in an all-black colourway and another in cream and black. The simple new balance 247 classic silhouette has been given a complete luxury makeover, with premium leather and pig suede used for the uppern and pig skin for the insoles. </br></br> The ongoing collaboration between Junya Watanabe and New Balance is back for the new decade. Formerly the protégé of COMME des GARÇON lead Rey Kawakubo, Watanabe has carved his own space for himself with his self-named brand. As a part of his label, the Japanese designer’s MAN division has been teaming up with the Boston-based new balance 574 mens periodically for special footwear projects, usually released in threes. </br></br> New Balance’s special projects have been all over the map this year, from collaborations with BEAMS to reintroducing the All Terrain 850. Now, the Boston-brand is rounding out the year with two colorways of a rebuilt new balance 580 mens, equipped with Gore-Tex.New Balance’s penchant for rebuilding their sneaker with extra technical details strikes again. This time around, the changes come in the form of a reconstructed MT580, a silhouette originally released exclusively in Japan in 1996. </br></br> The 580 was built with comfort, stability, and style in mind, three core traits that are still an inherent part of the design to this day. Constructed from engineered mesh and pigskin suede, the 580 was an instant classic when it finally ventured outside of Japan. Now, New Balance is bringing back the fan-favorite silhouette with a new twist: Gore-Tex. Most of the construction of this new balance 580 womens remains the same, from the combination ABZORB & C-CAP midsole, to the nubuck and pigskin upper. However, this new version adds a shroud to the tongue of the model, which attaches via the lacing system and features a zipper for ease of access. In addition to the shroud, the new 580 features a Gore-Tex lining to help keep your feet dry in the rainy months.
